Apple iPad 11th Generation (A16)

Apple iPad 11th Generation (A16) — about $425 (list $449) · ~4.7★ (~29.4K ratings) — the best VoiceOver tablet you can buy, full stop: best-in-class screen reader, Siri, Touch ID, USB-C.

Shopper teaching, because the lineup is confusing: 128GB is enough unless you hoard video — don't pay the storage upsell on instinct. The A16 chip means no Apple Intelligence on this model; if AI features matter to you, that's the iPad Air conversation. The Magic Keyboard Folio is extra and pricey.

Buy refurbished from Apple when available, and check education pricing if anyone in the house qualifies. For a blind user the iPad is a big-screen iPhone without the phone bill — size the purchase to the job, not the fantasy.
