Find help in your state
Help for blind residents is mostly run state by state — and the best-funded program most people have never heard of is the blind vending program. Start there.
Check your state’s blind vending program
The Randolph-Sheppard program is a federal law, on the books since 1936, that gives licensed blind vendors priority to run vending machines, snack bars, cafeterias, and shops on government property. Forty-nine states and Washington, DC take part.
Program details checked October 2026 against official state sources. Eligibility basics everywhere: you must be a U.S. citizen who is legally blind; states add their own requirements like age and residency.
