SwitchBot Bot

The verdict

Why blind shoppers should care disproportionately: plenty of appliances have one perfect button buried in a flat touch panel you can't feel. The Bot turns that into “Alexa, turn on the coffee maker.” The app is reasonably VoiceOver-friendly for setup; daily use is pure voice or schedule.

SwitchBot Bot — about $24–$30 · ≈4.2★ — and here's the honest blind-shopper read: a tiny robot finger that presses buttons for you. Stick it next to the power button on your coffee maker, fan, or old stereo, and it physically pushes the button on schedule or voice command. It's how you make a dumb appliance smart without replacing it.

The honest limits: it needs the SwitchBot Hub (~$40) for voice-assistant and out-of-home control — without the hub it's Bluetooth-only. And it sticks on with adhesive, so textured or curved surfaces may defeat it. Buy one to test on your hardest appliance before you outfit the house.
