Roborock Q8 Max Robot Vacuum

The verdict

The Q8 Max vacuums and mops in one run: 5,500 Pa HyperForce suction, a DuoRoller dual-rubber brush that resists hair tangles, and PreciSense LiDAR navigation that maps the home, supports multi-level maps, and lets you set no-go and no-mop zones in the app. Its combined dustbin and water tank hold 470 ml of dust and 350 ml of water, with 30 adjustable water-flow levels for mopping, and it runs up to 240 minutes per charge.

Roborock Q8 Max Robot Vacuum — about $259.99 at Amazon · 4.4★ · Mainstream pick — a LiDAR-guided vacuum-and-mop robot with strong suction and dual rubber brushes, for homes that want floors cleaned on a schedule rather than by hand.

It works with Alexa and Google Assistant voice commands as well as the Roborock app.

Blind details

For a blind shopper, buy this on the voice-and-schedule logic, not the map you cannot see: start a clean with a spoken command, put it on a schedule, and let it run while you are out. Before ordering, listen for reviews about the app's setup and about getting stuck, since the LiDAR map helps but cords, pet toys, and dark rugs still trip robots up. Confirm you are getting the base Q8 Max, not the Q8 Max+ — the Plus adds a self-empty dock at a much higher price — and note that this model does not lift its mop over carpets on its own, so set a no-mop zone for rugs before the first mopping run.

Honest caveats: the $259.99 figure is a tracked Amazon price against a $599.99 list, and this model's price has swung widely, from about $170 on sale to near list, so confirm at checkout. The 4.4★ rating reflects over 3,600 ratings, with recurring complaints about mopping over rugs and about Wi-Fi pairing. It needs a 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi network, and the dustbin still needs emptying by hand, unlike the self-emptying Plus version.
