Lutron Caseta Smart Dimmer Starter Kit (P-BDG-PKG1W)

The verdict

This starter kit bundles one Caseta in-wall smart dimmer, a Pico wireless remote, and the Lutron Smart Bridge: the hub that connects the system to Alexa, Google Assistant, and Apple HomeKit. The dimmer replaces a standard wall switch, controls up to 150 watts of LED bulbs, and works without a neutral wire — the wiring detail that stops many smart switches in older homes.

Lutron Caseta Smart Dimmer Starter Kit (P-BDG-PKG1W) — Amazon price not confirmed in this check (retailer listings around $114.95) · Amazon star rating not confirmed in this check · the one-box way to make an existing light switch smart without rewiring.

The Pico remote can live on a table or mount on the wall as a second switch location with no wiring at all.

Blind details

The blind-shopper check is the model number and the wiring: confirm the listing says P-BDG-PKG1W for the single-dimmer starter kit, since Lutron sells a near-identical Deluxe kit with two dimmers and a lamp-dimmer kit under similar names. Listen for reviews about the physical buttons — the dimmer has distinct up, down, on, and off buttons with a small LED strip showing the level — and about voice control reliability, because voice plus the tactile remote is the combination that makes this kit work without sight. If you are not comfortable turning off a breaker and swapping a switch, budget for an electrician even though many buyers DIY it.

Honest caveats: the Smart Bridge is required for app and voice control; without it, the dimmer and remote work only locally. Some buyers find the multi-button layout fiddly at first compared with a simple rocker. The Amazon price and star rating were not confirmed in this check, so verify both on the live listing before ordering. As of October 2026.
