Prepared Hero Extra Large Fire Blanket (47x71)

The verdict

Prepared Hero Extra Large Fire Blanket — $34.99 (typically $49.99) · star rating unverified in our research for the XL size (brand-level ratings run ~4.7–4.8) — and here's the honest blind-shopper read: fire response by feel. Pull the tabs, throw the blanket — no extinguisher to aim, no pin to find, no sweeping motion to judge.

For a blind cook, this is a genuinely important pick: grease fires are the kitchen emergency you are most likely to face, and the blanket's whole design is aim-free. Size guide: the standard 40x40 covers pans; this XL (47x71 inches) covers grills, doorways, and bigger flare-ups.

Two honest notes: buy the size for your actual risk — most kitchens need the standard, not the XL. And a used-on-fire blanket is generally non-returnable, so check reviews mentioning real fire deployments before you buy, not after.
