Hoover PowerDash Pet Compact Carpet Cleaner
The verdict
The PowerDash Pet (model FH50700) is a compact upright that washes carpet the way a mop washes a floor: a spinning antimicrobial brush roll scrubs, cleaning solution goes down, and suction pulls the dirty water into a separate tank. It weighs about 12.5 pounds empty, so it carries between floors and stores in a closet, and Hoover's HeatForce drying blows warm air to dry the carpet faster than a rental machine.
Hoover PowerDash Pet Compact Carpet Cleaner — about $100 at Amazon · 4.2★ · a lightweight upright carpet shampooer built for pet messes in apartments and small homes.
The dual-tank design keeps clean water and dirty water apart, so you are never mopping with yesterday's dirt.

Blind details
For a blind shopper, the buying checks are weight, tanks, and noise — all things reviewers describe well. Listen for reviews about carrying it (12.5 pounds is genuinely light for a carpet machine), about the two tanks (they lift out separately, and the dirty tank's full line is the thing to learn by feel), and about drying time, since a damp carpet is a trip and slip risk you cannot see. Confirm the model: FH50700 is the base PowerDash Pet, while the Pet+ and Pet Advanced are different machines at different prices with different tools. Budget for formula too — the machine needs Hoover carpet solution, and the trial bottle in the box runs out fast.

Honest caveats: the price moves a lot — recent guidance puts it roughly between $90 and $140, so the $100 figure here is a midpoint, not a promise. This is a compact machine for spots, stairs, and a few rooms, not a whole-house deep cleaner; large homes will want a full-size machine or a rental. The 4.2-star rating across more than 78,000 reviews includes complaints about suction fading and the brush roll needing cleaning after pet hair. It is loud, like all carpet machines, and it needs its tanks emptied and rinsed after each use or it smells.
