PlayStation Portal Remote Player
The verdict
An 8-inch 1080p LCD at up to 60fps with the full DualSense feature set — haptic feedback and adaptive triggers — streaming games from a PS5 over home Wi-Fi. It is not a console and it plays nothing on its own: it is a second screen for a PS5 you already own, for the couch, the bed, or the room without the TV.
PlayStation Portal Remote Player — about $199.99 · ≈4.4/5 from ~5,760 Amazon reviews · the handheld that streams your PS5 around the house — and is a paperweight without one.

Blind details
For a blind shopper, the buying check is the requirement chain, not the screen: PS5 console, PlayStation Network account, and broadband (Sony recommends 15Mbps or better). Listen for Wi-Fi and lag complaints in reviews, because performance lives or dies on home Wi-Fi, and check headset compatibility before assuming existing headphones will pair — there is no Bluetooth audio, only PlayStation Link.
Honest caveats: useless without a PS5 and internet, it cannot switch PSN profiles on-device, and there is no battery-percentage display. Build the white standard model — the Midnight Black variant is a separate listing at a different price. As of October 2026 the white model was $199.99.
