Gaming — the official Switch 2 controller

Nintendo Switch 2 Pro Controller

The verdict

GL/GR remappable back buttons that can be set per game without an app, a C button for GameChat, a 3.5mm headphone jack, HD Rumble 2, and about 40 hours of battery at 235 grams. The back buttons are the headline: remap them on the controller and leave them, with no phone app in the loop.

Nintendo Switch 2 Pro Controller — about $84.99 · ≈4.8/5 · the official Switch 2 controller — and a different, pricier product from the original Switch Pro Controller it resembles.

Specs

  • GL/GR remappable back buttons (no app needed)
  • C button for GameChat; 3.5mm headphone jack
  • HD Rumble 2; about 40-hour battery; 235g
  • USB-C charging
  • Potentiometer sticks — not Hall Effect

Blind details

For a blind shopper, the title check is everything: confirm 'Switch 2' in the listing, because the original Switch Pro Controller is a different, cheaper product (about $69) that also works differently. The on-controller remapping is the accessibility win here, and the headphone jack means wired audio without adapters.

Honest caveats: despite the $84.99 price, the sticks are potentiometers, not Hall Effect — drift risk is real over time, and repairability is poor by iFixit's account. The 8BitDo Ultimate 2C in this same batch is the drift-proof budget alternative, without HD Rumble or amiibo. As of October 2026 the MSRP was $84.99, raised from $79.99 before launch.
