David Goldstein of iCantCU bought the Pocket — a MagSafe AI recorder promising recording, transcription, and action items — and sent it back. His reasoning, paraphrased, is the most useful sentence in AI-gadget marketing: the concept was great, and the companion app was inaccessible, so accessibility killed the purchase. Print it on the inside of every buyer’s eyelids: for app-dependent hardware, the app is the product. A recorder whose app a screen reader can’t drive is not a recorder with a flaw; it’s a paperweight with a subscription.
