Dixit Storytelling Party Game
The verdict
Dixit is a gift pick, and we say so plainly: the game runs on surreal illustrated cards, so it is not playable by a blind player without a sighted describer. What makes it a strong blind-shopper pick is everything around the cards — the game is explained in one sentence (give a clue, everyone guesses which card it matches), it plays in 30 minutes, it needs no reading skill beyond the clue itself, and reviewers consistently call it the rare game that works equally well for kids and adults at the same table.
Dixit Storytelling Party Game — about $38 · 4.8 stars (about 1,550–6,650 ratings) · A party game built on imagination and words, and one of the best holiday gifts for a mixed-age group.
When you shop, listen for reviews about card quality and the scoring board — Dixit's cards are the product, and flimsy printing is the recurring complaint on knockoffs. Buy the Asmodee/Libellud edition, not a lookalike: the box should say 3–8 players, ages 8 and up, and include 84 illustrated cards. Expansions exist and are compatible with the base game, which makes this a gift that can grow.
Caveat, stated plainly: the $38 price is an Amazon US snapshot from late October 2026 and will move with holiday sales. If the person you are buying for is blind, this is not the game — our catalog's tactile and word-based games are the better fit; Dixit is for gifting to a sighted household.
